Angie

Angie headed off by herself and focused on her brother. Even if her brother wasn’t telepathic, they had always had a bond. One of them could always sense what the other one was thinking or feeling, and sometimes seeing. It was the same kind of connection that twins, especially identical twins, reportedly had.

Right now, as she focused on him, she felt like she had been beaten half to death. Her right eye was blurry and her stomach hurt as though someone had punched her in the gut half a dozen times.

Where are you? Spencer, you must tell me where you are.

She waited and had just about given up hope, when she got a weak message back. Spencer was barely conscious.

Not sure where. I think an old farmhouse. In a cellar.

“Spencer says that he is in the cellar at an old farmhouse,” Angie reported.

Everyone looked at her.

“You are able to connect to him?” Brady asked. “We’ve been trying for hours.”

Angie just looked away from him. She knew that she was being unreasonable, but she would worry about that after they got her brother back.

Can you hear anything around you? See anything?

She waited for a minute and was about to panic when he finally answered.

Voices. A lot of voices. No cars. I see lots of cobwebs and some old jars on the shelves.

As Angie brought out her phone, she sent another message to her brother:

Hang tight. We’re on our way.

Angie looked at Derrick and Brady. She said, “I think I know where Spencer is.”

She handed them her cell phone and showed them an area that was close to where Brady and the others had lost track of Spencer.

“There is supposed to be an old farmhouse over here. Spencer says he’s in the cellar of an old farmhouse. He told me that he can hear a lot of voices, but no cars or any other kind of noise. He can’t see anything except some cobwebs and shelves with a couple of old jars on them. That tells me that there is light going into where he is. So, I think if we take this road that turns off the highway about a half a mile up, we’ll find him,” Angie said.

Brady and Derrick got out their phones and looked at the GPS. They agreed with Angie. Spencer couldn’t be too far away from them right now.

Derrick and Brady started talking about Spencer and how to rescue him.

Derrick said, “We could park our bikes here about a half a mile away from the house. Then we can sneak up on them from the back from here.”

As he spoke, he showed exactly where on the map he thought that they should park the bikes and then walk up.

Brady looked at the area where Derrick was pointing.

He said, “It looks like there’s a wooded area right there so they should not see us coming.”

“As long as they don’t have any dogs,” Derrick said.

Frank stepped forward, and said, “Since I’m a wolf shifter I’ll be able to handle that.
